Robyne Hinds
A love of on-and off- road motorcycles drives Robyne Hinds. For 11 years, she dreamt of owning her own motorcycle accessory store as she worked in a similar business. And she knew the time was right because a new motocross park had opened in Orange County making the sport even more accessible.
But for small business to success in these volatile times, it takes a lot more than a dream. Luckily, Robyne discovered the Orange County Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The center, an economic development program of Rancho Santiago Community College District helps new small business owners launch a start-up operation and enables current business owners to improve their operations.
Robyne began working closely with the SBDC as she developed a viable business plan and then the SBDC consultants coached her on the steps to take to secure funding.
“ The small business program is so incredible,” says Robyne. “ These people get you prepared. I wouldn’t have gotten a loan without them.”
Today, Robyne is a happy owner of Cycle Pit Shop, the county’s newest discount accessory store. She says, “The SBDC changes people’s lives.”
