William Davey
BUSINESS CONSULTANT
William Davey is a Business Consultant with the
Orange County Small Business Development Center
specializing in access to capital for all sizes of
business. In this position he works with clients on
their loan presentation and matches the appropriate loan
program and institution for their financial needs. He
also partners with financial institutions to assist them
when a potential borrower does not meet their specific
credit criteria to identify an alternative source of
funding.
William has an extensive background in the lending arena
both as a lender and as a borrower. He has over 20 years
experience working with both banks and economic
development corporations in the lending and compliance
fields. He is well versed in how to structure a loan and
to prepare an application package that is easy for the
loan officer to review while understanding the
regulatory restrictions and credit criteria of the
financial institutions. With this knowledge, he is able
to direct potential borrowers to the appropriate lending
source reducing stress and saving time.
William started his career in the accounting field
having held positions in both the public and private
sector. He has been qualified as an expert accounting
witness in the Superior court and has also held
positions in private industry such Chief Financial
Officer. This experience makes it easy for him to
maneuver through financial statements and to quickly
identify strengths and weaknesses. These analytical
skills, allow for him to understand the potential
borrower’s financial position and to be able to explain
it to the financial institution in a positive way. The
goal is to match the borrower and lender to create a
long-term relationship.
William is a native Californian born and raised in
Manhattan Beach. He studied accounting at the University
of San Diego and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree
in Business from the University of Phoenix.
