John B. Gibson
BUSINESS
CONSULTANT
As a
technology consultant for the Orange County Small
Business Development Center (SBDC), John Gibson counsels
with companies throughout Orange County. He architects
internet marketing campaigns and helps companies achieve
success on the Internet using technology and Internet
marketing techniques. He also advises companies in the
use of technology in their business.
Johh
has over 25 years of experience in technology consulting
and business. Since joining the Orange County SBDC in
2005, he has helped hundreds of companies with business
strategies, the use of technology in their business and
web sites.
Previously,
John has owned and operated several businesses. His
businesses included an electrical contracting company,
an electronic repair company, a software development
company, and a computer consulting company with fifteen
employees. He has also managed large engineering
projects involving millions of dollars in construction
and engineering costs. His breadth of knowledge and
experience in technology and business gives him a unique
advantage in advising entrepreneurs at the Orange County SBDC, the Institute for Women Entrepreneurs,
California Manufacturing Technology Consultants, and
Orange Coast Medical Ventures. Currently, John's
professional experience extends to his own company,
United Intelligence Corporation, that has engineers and
knowledgeable workers that help companies solve tough
business and technology problems.
His
community and professional memberships include: senior
member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic
Engineers (IEEE), Microsoft Partner Program, IBM Partner
Program, volunteer for the American Red Cross, member of
the Saddleback College Foundation, member of the R&D
Policy Committee for IEEE-USA in Washington, and member
of the Economy Corps.
He
has been recognized with various awards in engineering,
including Outstanding Electrical Engineer for the State
of North Carolina. He is also past Chair of the Orange
County IEEE Section and the Eastern North Carolina
Section of the IEEE.
John holds a Bachelor of Science
degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and has an
extensive post graduate education in Business and
Advanced Mathematics at Golden Gate University and
Eastern Michigan University.
